De witte Habanero-peper is een vurige 250.000 tot 350.000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units). Habanero pepers komen oorspronkelijk uit Zuid-Amerika, waar ze worden vereerd als een van 's werelds heetste pepers.

De Witte Habanero-chilipeper is een unieke pepersoort die in bepaalde delen van Spanje wordt verbouwd. Het is veel pittiger dan andere habanero-pepers, met een Scoville-hittegraad die tot zes keer hoger is dan de gewone roodgekleurde variƫteit. Terwijl de meeste mensen witte habaneros te heet vinden om heel of rauw te genieten, worden ze vaak gebruikt als toevoeging aan Mexicaanse gerechten en salsa's voor een extra kick.

Bij het hanteren van witte habanero-paprika's zijn handschoenen essentieel, omdat het branderige gevoel op de huid kan blijven, zelfs na het wassen met koud water.
