Onze eigen gekweekte "birds eye" pepers, gedroogd en verpakt in het VK. De bird's eye chillies is een vaste plant met kleine, taps toelopende vruchten, vaak twee of drie, op een knooppunt. De vruchten zijn erg scherp. De bird's eye chili is klein, maar behoorlijk heet (pikant). Het meet ongeveer 50.000 - 100.000 Scoville-eenheden, wat in de onderste helft van het bereik is voor de hetere habanero, maar nog steeds vele malen pittiger dan een jalapeño. Rwanda staat bekend om zijn hete saus Akabanga en deze pepers doen de reputatie van Akabanga eer aan.
