A blend of the finest teas from the mountainous tea plantations of Rwanda. Refreshing when served with milk and sugar, or simply taken black.
Product description

A blend of the finest teas from mountainous Northwest of Rwanda. Refreshing served with milk and sugar, or simply taken "black". The pleasant flavour and lacking a bitter after taste. For tea drinkers, a simple pleasure. The tea gardens of Rubaya and Kitabi are nearby the forest-dwelling places of the magnificent mountain gorillas. Rwanda’s cool temperatures, plentiful rain and fertile volcanic soil help to make a consistent, smooth-tasting tea. Nyabihu’s tea plantings are at elevations of 7, 500 feet.

Rwanda, affectionately known as 'The Land Of A Thousand Hills' is the producer of some of the world's finest teas

Although Rwanda only produces around 1% of the world's tea, its highly fertile volcanic soil and mild climate make it perfectly suited to tea growing. Our tea's come from the Rukeri and Nyahibu tea plantations, where tea is grown at between 5500 and 6500ft. With a diverse range of different tea flavours, Rwanda Mountain Tea aspires to a quality far higher than its competitors.

As a leader in the private tea industry of Rwanda and a contributor to the nation's hydropower electricity, Rwanda Mountain Tea company is helping it's country to develop too.

The some 3600 hectares of tea plantations themselves are set in the idillic Congo Nile Divide Region, where regular rainfall nourishes the green tea leaves. By outsourcing the production of some of their tea growing to other cooperatives, Rwanda Mountain Tea company has increased its capacity to a whopping 13,600 tonnes per year.

Operating five tea factories, Rwanda Mountain Tea company offers one of the most diverse tea selections in not only in Rwanda, but East Africa as a whole.

Moreover, recently at a Kenyan tea auction, Nyahibu tea fetched East Africa's highest ever fee for tea.

With its vision to become a globally competitive producer and exporter of quality teas, we are proud to work directly with Rwanda Mountain Tea company as a UK importer and reseller.
